Quality solar products are the key to our success
Solar technology is constantly improving so we don’t have a one size fits all approach. We are always looking for the best quality and value for money. Good products, with high efficiencies and extended warranties, will suit our standards. Also good backup and service from the manufacturers is a must. With this attitude of searching for the best at affordable prices, you will save money for decades and reduce the risk of having to fix or replace your system.
The Solar Panels
This can then be used to power electrical appliances in your home, but before it can do this, the electricity your solar panels produce needs to be converted from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
The Inverter - What are they?
An inverter is one of the most important pieces of equipment in your solar energy generation chain. It converts direct current (DC) electricity, which is generated by solar panels, to alternating current (AC) electricity, which is used by the grid (domestic and industrial). With DC, electricity is maintained at a constant voltage in one direction. With AC, electricity flows in both directions in the circuit as the voltage changes from positive to negative.
An inverter achieves the DC-to-AC conversion by switching the direction of a DC input back and forth very rapidly. Because of this process, a DC input becomes an AC output. Also, filters and other electronic circuit boards can be used to produce a voltage that varies as a clean, repeating sine wave that can be injected into the power grid.
Your inverter will perform several tasks if you have a household solar system. As well as converting your solar energy into AC power, it will monitor the system and provide an interface for communicating with computer networks. Solar-plus–battery storage systems rely heavily on Hi-Tech inverters to operate without any support from the grid in case of outages.
The Installation
Experienced Solar installer teams should consist of qualified electricians and experienced roof carpenters or builders. This means that your roof can be assessed for structural integrity before the installation of the panels. Also, the installation can be done to building codes, and the moisture barriers can be maintained (ie No Leaks!).
An experienced install team will know exactly which angles to place the solar panels to take advantage of the summer/winter changes in the sun’s position. They will also advise on the possible shading areas of trees as they grow larger.
The wiring routes to the Solar Inverter and connections to your house and grid are also critical factors when installing a Solar generation system in your home. Correct cable specifications and quality joining connectors are essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of any household solar system. There are documented cases of badly installed solar systems catching fire and partially damaging or even totally burning homes to the ground in the Perth Metropolitan area.
